Gosh Nail Lacquer Shiny Finish - 631 - Million Stars

Evening everyone :)

So i actually planned on posting this review a while back but i kept getting new polishes and it just kept making its way to the end of the queue sadly.. i think i purchased Million Stars over a month ago! I was intrigued by the 'Pearly Shiny Finish' it was supposed to have...

Million Stars - With Flash

Million Stars - With Flash

Colour:

Million Stars is a grey based polish with a tonne of rainbow coloured flecks in it, i say flecks, but this polish is completely smooth when dry. I wouldn't quite call the finish 'Pearly' but i can see where they're coming from with the colours that the flecks are... Like i said the polish dries completely smooth so you can topcoat it like usual and it won't take away the effect.

Application/Consistency/Brush:

I really love Gosh lacquers, i don't think we hear about them enough as well! I cannot fault the formula of this polish at all, its thick but its not gloopy so it applies really nicely. The brush is long and thin - great for creating a neat line round your cuticle. (I didn't have to clean up - yay!)

Dry time before topcoat:

I did find that Million Stars did take quite a while to dry, but i didn't mind waiting as its so gorgeous and pretty unique really - i don't have anything else like it. I decided to wait a good 5 minutes between each coat as i did try to apply the second coat before then and the first coat just dragged :( So 5 minutes between each coat and then a good 10 minutes+ before topcoat!

Where to buy:

You can purchase Million Stars from Superdrug, instore and online for £3.99 (For such a pretty polish the price is really good!)

Million Stars is easily my favourite Gosh Lacquer, its just so unlike everything else and for the price, its pretty much a bargain..

Ohhh and before i go... I holo'd Million Stars! Doesn't it look magical?! I'm annoyed i only took one photo with all 5 fingers in and it came out blurry but to be honest, its probably the best way to view a holo'd polish ;) look at all them colours!!

I'll be back tomorrow with my review on ILNP Charmingly Purple. (Really going to try and get back into blogging more!)

ILNP - Charmingly Purple

Evening ladies :)

Recently i ordered some ILNP Holographics and i am in love with allllll of the ones i decided to get so today i'm showing you Charmingly Purple - i only ordered 3 but it was still a hard choice to decide what to wear first!

Here's Charmingly Purple in all its holographic beauty:

Colour:

Charmingly Purple is a linear holographic Purple polish, I'd say the holographic effect isn't over the top but its not subtle either, its pretty much perfect for me, you can still see it really well in sunlight and artificial light, and even in the shade.

Application/Consistency/Brush:

Ahhhhh i love ILNP holos! The formula is literally perfect, its so smooth and glossy which makes it incredibly easy to apply, the brush is just ideal for applying the polish neatly too. I've found this polish to be self levelling too, so if you apply too much on one half of the nail it tends to level itself out for even coverage.

Dry time before topcoat:

The dry time for Charmingly Purple is very quick, thats one of the main reasons why i love them, they're fuss free. I can apply three coats practically one after the other, wait 5 minutes, then apply top coat and go to sleep 10 minutes later and i'll have no dents in my nails or anything the next morning, you might be thinking, but you use HK girl as top coat? (And we all know that dries rock solid in about 2 minutes or less) Yes i do, but! Even if the top coat is dry the polish underneath can still be dented, and that literally doesn't happen with any of my ILNP Holos. All that with such pretty colours to choose from, you really cannot go wrong with these Holos!

Where to buy:

You can purchase this polish and all the other Holographics straight from their website HERE for $10.00 each.

I'll have reviews and pictures up of the other colours i have, Dreaming in Violet, Princeton & Music box over the next week. You can read my review on Cutie Pop HERE.

If you don't already own a holographic polish, i really do recommend these, you really wouldn't be disappointed!

Thank you for taking the time to read this post!

Soigné Nails - Macaron Collection

Hello everyone :)

Sorry this is a day late; ended up going out last night so i wasn't able to post anything!

A few weeks ago Soigné, a new luxury nail polish brand, held a giveaway on their Facebook page and I was one of the lucky winners! Each winner received the Macaron collection, inspired by French Macarons! (Lets face it, they have become increasingly popular over the last year or so!) I'd been eyeing up this set for a while and as the Soigné online shop isn't open yet i wasn't able to purchase it so i feel incredibly lucky to have been one of the winners. (Am also on a no buy!!)

Heres a few important things you should know about their polishes:

Soigné, created in France and influenced by Parisian fashion, offers a formula that includes up to 85% of plant sourced raw materials. They offer a core palette as well as fashion influenced seasonal collections. Their base coat is oxygen based so it allows for breathability, hydration and encourages healthy nails. They also offer a Gel Effect top coat for a long lasting high gloss finish.

I was super excited to receive this collection! They turned up just a few days after I sent them my details and the first thing i noticed (how could i not?!) was the pretty, luxurious box the collection comes it, its actually one of the things that made me want the collection in the first place! Its a light pink colour with a silver foil like pattern around the edge. Each collection they release will have its own little box like this one!

Each formula is exactly the same so i'll do a review of the formula and then show you each colour!

Application/Consistency:

Lets start with the Application, I absolutely LOVE the brush on these polishes, with one dip they pick up just enough polish to paint the entire nail. (When the bottle is new you do have to wipe some off as you take it out but this is pretty standard) The brush itself is flat and just the right width which helps you cover the nail in three strokes. It allows you to easily create a nice neat line near your cuticles too. The consistency to me is pretty much perfect, its thick but not gloopy, runny but not thin and the coverage is really quite good. Caramel and Lavande are creamy and I only needed to do 2 coats, but for the other three, Pistache, Fruit de la Passion and Pétale de Rose, i had to do 3 coats as they weren't so creamy.

Dry time before able to apply topcoat:

There isn't really much to say about dry time apart from that I love how quick these polishes dry, within 3 minutes each coat was pretty much 100% dry and i could add top coat. Just how I like my polishes to be!

Where to buy:

I'm going to assume that you'll soon be able to purchase this collection from Soignenails.com as i've been told they're opening in July! This collection is priced at £38 (and is totally and utterly worth that!) each individual polish will be priced at £11.

One thing i do want to point out is that i've noticed that my nails didn't have that harsh polish smell when they'd dried! I'm wondering if thats something to do with the natural formula!

So here are the colours you receive in the Macaron collection:

L-R: Pistache, Lavande, Caramel, Fruit de la Passion & Pétale De Rose
Each photo below shows how different the colours can look under the same light.

Pistache: A cool subtle minty green, sometimes looks more blue than green

Lavande: A cool lilac colour inspired by the buds of Lavender

Caramel: A rich warm caramel nude colour

Fruit de la Passion: A rather bright coral/orange (mostly like the second picture the majority of the time) (Second fave!)

Pétale De Rose: A warm pinky coral colour (My absolute favourite!)

I'm honestly 100% impressed by these polishes! I just love the colours and the formula and i would MUCH rather spend £11 on one of these than say nails inc or OPI. I'm also really excited to see their new collections and the packaging for each one! You can like Soigné on Facebook here if you'd like to stay up to date and know when their shop is open!

I have used some of these as a base for nail art so perhaps i'll show you those over the next week ;)

Thank you very much for reading :)

Stellar Nail Polish - Drops of Jupiter

Evening everyone :)

Today i have another Stellar Nail Polish to show you! This is a glitter topper called Drops of Jupiter.

Here's Drops of Jupiter over 3 coats of Pétale De Rose by Soigné:

Colour:

Drops of Jupiter is a glitter topper consisting of lilac and pink stars, light blue and pink dots, small pink and light blue dots, purple hexes, pink squares and silver holo glitter. I love pastel pinks purples and blues so i was instantly attracted to this!

Application/Consistency/Brush:

I did find that there was a lot of base compared to glitter so i decided to poor some polish out onto a piece of foil and fished around for the glitters on that (a lot easier than doing it in the bottle!) I did two coats this way applying it using a dabbing motion so the glitters didn't pull however i did find this polish a bit difficult to apply even after pouring some out, the brush seemed to pick up the base but not the glitters too well. With the second coat i tried to place the glitters evenly where no glitter already sat.

Dry time before able to apply topcoat:

I found Drops of Jupiter to dry quite quickly, however because of the dabbing motion I had to use to apply it, the polish wasn't the same thickness all over the nail so in places it was tacky for quite a while and a teeny bit lumpy (my fault), but once the majority was dry i applied HK girl topcoat by Glisten and Glow. I was impressed with the stars in this polish as they didn't seem to stick up and i only had to apply one coat of top coat to cover them nicely unlike the Lynnderella i reviewed a few posts back!

Where to buy:

You can purchase Drops of Jupiter from Stellar Nail Polish on Etsy here for £6.

This is one of my favourite glitter toppers, i think its super pretty - i just need to apply it a bit better next time as i noticed a few air bubbles which was totally my fault.

My review of the Soigné Macaron Collection (Featuring Pétale De Rose) will be up Sunday evening so i do hope you come back then!

Thank you for reading m'dears

Stellar Nail Polish - Ayla

Afternoon ladies!

I hope you're all having a good day! Today i have a superrrrr gorgeous thermal by a UK indie brand to show you! I ordered my Stellar Nail Polishes on Friday evening and they arrived Monday morning! How good is that?! I ordered two polishes, Ayla and Drops of Jupiter which is a glitter topper, i'll be reviewing that one later this week.

How cute does my little order look?! I even got some free embellishments and lovely Ruth added in a little owl ring for me as an extra :3

Here's Ayla looking all pretty:

Ayla Stellar nail polish thermal glitter varnish
Cold State

Ayla Stellar nail polish thermal glitter varnish
Warm State (in the shade)

Colour:

Ayla is a Thermal Jelly Polish, dark Purple when cold and a gorgeous light Blue when its warm. It contains small Blue and Silver hexes, large Purple hexes as well as Purple butterflies and teeny tiny Silver holo glitter.

Application/Consistency/Brush:

I found Ayla really easy to apply, the consistency was on point and it just glided on my nails, i didn't have to fish for any glitters, even the butterflies! I did three coats - two would have been enough but i'm a three coater! I love how jellyfied it looks! I think this is actually my favourite thermal out of my entire collection. Whats clever is, when its in its cold state (Dark Purple) you can really see the blue glitters, they just pop and when its in its warm state (Light Blue) the Purple glitters and the butterflies stand out more. Its like reverse polish technology LOL.
I didn't have to clean up at all with these; i really think the brush helped me apply it so neatly allowing me to get the polish where i really needed it!

Dry time before topcoat:

I'm so impressed with this thermal, it honestly dries so quickly yet i still had enough time to perfect each coat without it pulling if i went over the same area twice. I left about a minute in between coats and then applied topcoat literally straight away after the last coat. I didn't have any problems with the first three coats not being dry under the quick dry topcoat! Yay!

Where to buy:

You can purchase this polish from here for £6 which to be honest, i think is quite reasonable for this thermal!

Warm/Cold state in the sun

I honestly cannot fault Ayla. I've found it even reacts to heat from the Sun. I will definitely be purchasing more Stellar Nail Polishes in the future! Thank you for reading :)

MerPET - Royal Purple

Evening ladies :)

So today i have a very special polish to show you! She isssss my merPET!

YES, she's a Mermaid constructed around a bottle of polish! Genius idea, in fact the entire PolishPETS range is a genius idea!! You can view all of them here. I'll be reviewing my 'People Eater' later this week :)

Each merPET comes with a tiny glass bottle where you can either receive a discount code or a little message. They also have wire in their tails so you can move it about.

MERPET POLISHPET ROYAL PURPLE
I named my merPET Ocean :)
I must admit that i bought my merPET for the mermaid, purely because she's so cute! And not the polish, i wasn't too keen on the swatches i'd seen but in real life i LOVE it. Now, the reason i'm posting this review tonight is because tomorrow, the merPET i have and 2 other ones are being discontinued! (Monday 14th July) :o so if you want to get your hands on a beautiful mermaid like mine, you only have about a day left to do so! (PolishPets are based in America so they're 8 hours behind!)

MERPET POLISHPET ROYAL PURPLE

Colour:

The glitter topper is gorgeous, as you can see in the swatch below it has gold and purple hexes in different sizes, shards of gold, tiny gold and silver holo squares, a few silver holo dots (which i used to accent my ring finger nail) its also got silver holo in the base with a fine gold holo glitter.

Application/Consistency/Brush:

I looooove the brush on this polish! Its very long and thin and allows for easy application of all the glitters. I did two coats of glitter as i wanted my nails to be quite glittery however if you want a more subtle finish you could just go for one coat. As for the consistency, i really can't complain! It glided on very nicely, i didn't wipe my brush off otherwise all the glitter went back in, i tried to get a nice blob of polish on the 'top' of the nail and then lightly pulled it all over the rest of the nail with a few light strokes until i was happy with where all the glitters were. I used the second coat to place the glitter in the areas free of glitter.

Dry time before able to apply topcoat:

I've found that glitter toppers can take forever to dry so I was impressed with how quick this one dried, 5 minutes and it was touch dry. Dry enough to apply a quick dry top coat, i use HK girl topcoat. Any nails with the shards of glitter on may need two coats of topcoat as they can stick up a bit.

Where to buy:

You can purchase this merPET and the other 3 from www.polishpets.com, however after 14th July 2014 only Airyal will be available to purchase! :o Each merPET is $14 which i don't think is bad at all considering what you get!!

I'm so glad i got this merPET, i now love this glitter topper, my pictures honestly don't do it much justice at all! Its so shimmery and holographic. I think its quite unusual too, i definitely don't have anything else like it.

Just a quick note about customs charges - PolishPets do write the full value of each polish on the customs declaration so be careful with how much (in value) you order, they actually have their own restrictions for how many polishes you can order from them at one time so make sure you read their 'store policies' tab before placing an order. I didn't have to pay any customs charges on mine and it came too $18.00 (about £10.51) before postage, i ordered one merPET and the vinyl sticker they offer. Parcels are delivered by royal mail via Special Delivery.

Hope you've enjoyed reading this review and as i said i'll do a post on the 'People Eater' PolishPET later this week!!

xXx

P.s I had some fun with her taking pictures of her in different places with little friends she's made along the way ;)

Lynnderella - Crocus Pocus

Hey ladies!!

I'm baaaaack :) The last two weeks have been really busy for me, preparing everything for opening my online store (Puddleducks Pretties) then actually opening it, trying to fit wii fit sessions in between sleeping, eating and not feeling sick! I stroked a llama last weekend at our local carnival as well, that took up a lot of my time ;) I had a really good day, spent time with my Ashwee and I met some new people which I haven't done in a while :D

Anyway here's a picture of a llama :)

And then I got sunburn. LOL life's a bitch.

Andddd back onto nail polish! So at the end of June i bought Lynnderella and the hunt for the perfect base colour began... i ended up going with Julie by Zoya; a light purple with a silver shimmer running through it.

Colour:

Crocus Pocus is a glitter topper with sooooo many glitters in it! Theres large blue hexes, small purple hexes, squares, stars, flowers, moons... Its one hell of a glitter topper when used in the right way!

Application/Consistency/Brush:

I found that there was a lot of base compared to glitter so i had to do 3 coats to get a substantial amount of glitter on my nails. This was a bit of a pain as i had to wait quite a while for each coat to dry so it didn't pull the last coat as its not too good on dry time. This topper isn't one of those polishes where the glitter sticks to the brush, if it was it would be brilliant as there is A LOT of glitter in the bottle, it just sits on the bottom a little even if you give the bottle a good old shake.

Dry time before able to apply topcoat:

If you don't wait for each coat to dry and then apply a quick dry topcoat on top the topcoat will dry and will still be wet underneath, then you get this stodgy clump that can just be pulled off your nails, so its very important to make sure its all dry before you apply topcoat, if you do 3 coats let each coat dry for about 5-10 minutes and then give it 15 minutes when you've applied all 3 coats before you add topcoat. Its a good idea to use two coats of top coat too as some of the glitters, like the stars, decide to stick up and they can get VERY annoying!

Where to buy:

I picked up this Lynnderella from a destash sale on Storenvy, i'm not entirely sure where you can actually buy Crocos Pocus from! But if you do find it and you like the look of it then do grab it as you might find it difficult to find again.

Lynnderella Crocus Pocus
2 coats of Zoya - Julie with 3 coats of Crocus Pocus on top with 2 coats of HK girl topcoat
I must be honest, i'm not really sure if i like this topper. I think i do up close, but from far away i don't as all you can see if a mish mash of purple and blue. Up close you can see the flowers, moons etc and everything looks a bit more defined..

If i could go back and decide whether to purchase this again, i probably wouldn't due to how many layers of polish i ended up with on my nails. (Total of 7!! Which is mental for me. And no, i didn't enjoy removing this AT ALL LOL. I can't even use the foil method as the acetone irritates my skin!)

Thank you for reading lovelies and i promise i'll be posting more regularly from now on :D

xXx
